MakerBot
I joined MakerBot, the 3D printer juggernaut, during an exciting period of growth. It had just graced the cover of Wired and was about to be acquired by a major manufacturing company, Stratasys. As copy director in a fledgling company that was expanding quickly, I not only managed the copy team but also supported junior project managers in briefing and staffing projects.

Creating a copy team in a rapidly growing company
When I arrived, MakerBot was on an upswing. As part of its buyout from Stratasys, it had to make hundreds of millions of dollars in order to meet a matching fund.
How we did it
We pushed out and promoted new products at breakneck speed. We deigned ads, wrote blog posts, named new products, advanced their digital store and Thingiverse makerspace website, educated consumers, and more.
Results
MakerBot became the top 3D printer brand in the world, selling hundreds of thousands of printers, scanners, collateral, and becoming a household name in the maker space.
